Once you have decided whether you want to buy a cheap and simple, conventional pool heat pump or an inverter model, it is important to check further specifications. The most important selection criteria include:

- Heating capacity and maximum temperature
- Accessories and additional functions
Of course, it is particularly important that you choose the perfect size of the pump for your pool. But how should you plan the dimensioning of your pool heat pump according to your pool size?
Basically, the larger your pool is, the more sensible an inverter model is for you – simply to shorten the heating time and thus heat more efficiently, but also because these versions are much quieter and you or your neighbors are exposed to a less disturbing noise for less time.
Hint: Good pool heat pumps have a sound output of less than 50 dB, which can be roughly equated with the volume of birdsong or refrigerator noise. The best models are only audible at about 30 dB, which is the same as the noise in a quiet room where no one is talking.
