6 Worst Live Action Movies Based on Cartoons and Anime

No matter how good the technology gets or how neat the special effects are, there are some animated films that you just cannot create in Live-action form and generate the same vibe. You cannot find the characters that look similar to the animated ones while having the same speaking style and movements.

This is the reason why some films that were based on anime and cartoons, got really bad feedback on platforms like kisscartoon alternatives from both audience and the critics. In this article, we are going to look at some of these bad adaptations of anime and cartoons and see what makes them that way.

Following are some of the worst live action movies that were based on extremely successful anime and cartoons.

  • The Lion King (2019)

I don’t think you can find a single adult who didn’t love the epic original cartoon film “The Lion King” back in the 90s. The newer version of the film had high expectations but things were not as great as we had hoped.

The story was executed perfectly but the expressions of the characters were not prominent and the film lacked an emotional connection with the audience. This CGI plus live-action movie didn’t really explore the characters that much and things looked kind of dull.

  • Dragon Ball Evolution (2009)

This film had so many flaws in the story and execution that it made the fans really furious and they still are to this very day.

The story goes like this, thousands of years ago, seven mystics sealed a monster named piccolo who is now back to take his revenge and seeks dragon balls. Goku who is a teenager finds his grandfather dead and embarks on a journey to train as well as to find the 7 balls to defeat the villain.

This story is completely different from the original series and that is not even the end of it. The characters behaved differently and had features that were not at all similar to the real thing.

  • Avatar: The Last Airbender (2010)

Now this movie had some pretty cool visuals and fight scenes. There are some places though where things look kind of CGI and fake but overall, it was a great movie.

The only thing that caused it to be on this list is that it failed to keep things consistent with the original series. Some elements of the story were completely off and the casting was also a little bad.

  • The Flintstones Movie (2000)

This show has ruled the cartoon industry for many years for its unique way of combining the stone age with the new technological aspects. The film however failed to keep up the story and characters consistent with the animation.

The casting was way off and that is probably because they weren’t able to find the right fit for the characters due to certain limitations of live-action filmmaking.

  • Death Note

This movie had many expectations since it required very little CGI and there was more room for intense acting and dialogue exchange. However, the film took another turn from the story and dived more into the romantic genre.

The scenes were poorly executed and the characters had very little in common with their original animated counterparts. This film is available for free on movierulz plz telugu movies download.

  • The Speed Racer (2008)

This film had very little to do with the original manga which disappointed the fans a lot. The graphics were okay but they could’ve been much better considering it was just a bunch o car races and stuff.

The writing really lacked depth and the subpar acting made things a little dull and dry. The CGI and SFX were not that bad though which makes it somewhat better than the rest from this list.

Final Thoughts

So, these are some of the worst live-action films that you must avoid watching if you value your time. The critics and fans both seemed to hate these and that is why we think it would be better if you watched some other stuff instead.
